What makes Poki Yoki different?

Poki Yoki is a spill-proof, magnetic, modular cup system made for parents. Lids, straws and cups snap together with magnets, and every part fits every size, so one system grows with your kids.

Which system should I buy?

  • Just want to try it? The Discovery Cup: one 14oz cup, a magnetic lid and four straws.
  • One kid, all in? The Starter System: a 14oz cup plus two stackable 12oz backups, every straw from training to free flow, and both valves. There’s always a clean one ready.
  • Two or more kids? The Family System: three lids, six cups and 22 straws, so nobody fights over cups. It also ships free.

Using Our Cups + Cleaning & Care

Can I use hot drinks, juice or carbonated drinks?

Keep it cool. Poki Yoki is made for cold drinks like water, milk and pulp-free juice.

  • Hot drinks: the cup isn’t designed for them.
  • Carbonated drinks: bubbles build pressure inside a sealed lid, and that pressure has to go somewhere (usually your kid’s shirt).
  • Pulpy drinks:switch to the free flow valve for best use..

And one more: no freezer, no microwave. Fill just below the threads and you’re good to go.

Why did my cup comes with two valve styles?

Every Poki Yoki cup comes with two valves, so you can choose how it drinks. The Free Flow valve comes installed in the lid. It has no seal, so liquid flows freely with no resistance, but it will spill if the cup tips over. The Spill-Proof valve is in the box. It has a seal that keeps the cup spill-resistant for everyday use. Swap between them anytime in about 20 seconds.

Why would I use the Free Flow Valve?

Free Flow works like a regular straw: your child sips and the drink comes, with no suction needed. That makes it a good fit for:

  • Thicker drinks like smoothies, which take more effort to pull through a valve
  • Kids who get frustrated by having to suck hard through a valve
  • Practicing real-straw sipping, since free-flowing cups encourage children to sip rather than suck (NHS guidance on choosing a cup)

Use Free Flow when you're sitting with your child, and switch to Spill-Proof for the car, stroller or bed.

Are the cups dishwasher safe?

Yes - all Poki Yoki components are top-rack dishwasher safe. Check out our care instructions for more information.

How does the magnetic lid work?

The magnets are embedded into the lid and collars. The collars will snap into place based on the magnetic polarity to assemble the lid and start drinking. (Magnets are not accessible.)

What ages are Poki Yoki cups designed for?

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for unused items in original condition. Items marked “Final Sale” cannot be returned.

How much is shipping and how long does it take?

Shipping fees: nobody’s favorite line item. Ours included. Here’s where things stand:

  • Any order of $85 or more: ships free
  • Shipping ranges from $8.99- $12.99

We’re actively working on bringing these down, and we’ll shout it from the rooftops when we do. We ship within the U.S. Most orders arrive in 3–5 business days, and all within 7.

Warranty & Safety

What materials are the cups made from?

The cup base is made from premium Tritan BPA-Free plastic, with food-grade silicone straws. Each piece is designed for long-term durability under normal household use. Poki Yoki is BPA, BPS, PVC and Phthalate Free.

Are Poki Yoki products tested for safety?

Yes. Poki Yoki cups are tested by an independent third-party lab against U.S. safety standards for children's products, and are certified under a Children's Product Certificate (CPC). They passed every test.

Are the magnets accessible?

No. The magnets are fully enclosed inside the lid and collars. They are not accessible to children and meet safety guidelines for household use.

Do Poki Yoki cups come with a warranty?

Yes! Every Poki Yoki cup includes our Lifetime Quality Assurance Warranty. This covers:

  • Manufacturing defects
  • Failures in materials or workmanship
  • Malfunctioning magnets, lids, or body components under normal household use

Troubleshooting

My valve feels loose or worn.

Valves naturally wear out over time and are considered replaceable. Need some new ones? Email us at hello@pokiyoki.com

Why are there small black particles near the magnet on my lid?

Those tiny black particles are trace iron that already exists in your tap water, picked up from natural minerals in groundwater or household pipes. It's something present in most tap water across the U.S. and the magnet in the lid simply attracts and concentrates those particles, making them visible for the first time.

The EPA classifies iron in drinking water as a secondary contaminant, meaning it's purely an aesthetic concern related to color and taste, not a health hazard.

The particles can easily be wiped away with a damp cloth! 

My collars aren't connecting properly. What should I do?

Think of it like building a little house! The top collar has a triangle shape and the bottom collar has a square shape. To connect them correctly, just match the triangle to the triangle and the square to the square, like placing a roof on top of a house. When the shapes are aligned, the magnets will snap together perfectly every time.

If they still aren't connecting, also double check that both surfaces are dry and free of any debris that could be blocking the connection.
